Teams EDU Web Parts

Role
UX/UI Designer

Team
2 designers, 1 lead, 1 QA, 2 PMs and 3 developers

Timeframe
10 weeks (Nov 2021 - Jan 2022)

Project Overview

Microsoft’s Educational Products team is developing a customizable mobile-first student hub for higher education institutions that are looking to improve and enhance their students’ experiences.

In collaboration with another designer and design lead, I served as a UX/UI Designer responsible for creating the foundational web parts of the student hub, through user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity visual designs, and UI specs. I also worked with our lead designer in formulating and conducting usability testing to validate our solution.

Outcome

Our multidisciplinary team designed and built 3 brand new SharePoint web parts in less than 3 months (not yet launched). Usability testing revealed a 90% task completion success rate, and all participants rated the experience a 9+ (out of 10).
